Communiqué about the peaceful visit of His Beatitude, Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa to the Ecumenical Patriarchate (15/11/2004)

It is hereby, with great pleasure, announced that His Beatitude, Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, will make an official visit to the Ecumenical Patriarchate, from the 4th until the 9th, of this coming December.

The delegation that will accompany His Beatitude will consist of their Eminences Metropolitans Petros of Aksum, Jonah of Kampala, Sergios of the Cape of Good Hope, and Nicholas of Ermoupolis, the Very Rev. Archimandrite Gennadios Stantzios Chief Secretary of the Synod, the Honourable Mr. Charalambos Katsimbris, President of the Hellenic Community of Alexandria, and Mr. Spyridon Kamalaki, Archon of the Patriarchate of Alexandria.

According to the program, His All Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, will concelebrate the Divine Liturgy in the Most Venerable Patriarchal Cathedral of St. George, on Sunday 5 December. The next day, His Beatitude will officiate in various Churches on the occasion of the Feast Day of St. Nicholas.

It is noted that a delegation of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, consisting of three Hierarchs, had been present at the enthronement of His Beatitude, Patriarch of Alexandria, and had conveyed to Him the congratulations of His All Holiness and the Ecumenical Patriarchate.
