Bishop Pankratios of Scopelos, in the world Petro Dubas, was born on July 12, 1955 – in Holohory, Zolochiv region, province of Lviv, Ukraine to Oleksij and Anna Dubas, a faithful Orthodox family.
Baptised and chrismated in a temple of St. George, the Great Martyr and Trophy-Bearer, an Orthodox parish .Throughout 1973 – 1975 he served in armed forces. After mandatory military service he discharged duties of a cantor at St. George’s Church in Holohory, wherefrom he was advised and given a reference to enter Leningrad (St. Petersburg) Theological Seminary by Archpriest Jaroslav Savchuk.
From 1983 to 1987 studied at Leningrad Theological Seminary.
From 1987 to 1991 continued his studies in Leningrad Theological Academy.
Upon graduation from the theological school, Academic Council of the theological academy dispatched him to the needs of His Eminence Metropolitan Philaret of Kyjiv and Halych, Patriarchal Exarch of Ukraine (Moscow Patriarchate).
He was detached for the teaching work at Volyn Theological Seminary, in Lutsk by the decree of Metropolitan Philaret.
Afterwards, he was appointed an instructor of Church-Slavonic language, designated in charge of a library, and made an assistant to a seminary provost by the decree of His Grace Bishop Bartholomew, a ruling hierarch of Lutsk and Volyn Diocese and rector of the seminary.
On August 3, 1993 arrived to the USA on the invitation of His Grace Bishop Vsevolod of Scopelos, a Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Ecumenical Patriarchate) in America. On August 5, 1993, Metropolitan Athenagoras (Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America), tonsured him to a monastic order with a name of Pankratios, in memory of the Holy Priest-Martyr Pankratios, Bishop of Taormina, in the Holy Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church in New York.
On December 12, 1993 during the Divine Liturgy Bishop Vsevolod ordained him to the rank of a hierodeacon in Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Protection of Our Most Holy Lady the Theotokos and Ever-Virgin Mary, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, USA.
On December 19, 1993 Bishop Vsevolod ordained him a hieromonk in All-Saints Ukrainian Orthodox Church in New York and appointed him a parish-priest of the said parish.
On October 2, 1994 Bishop Vsevolod was elevated to the rank of ihumen in St. John of Suchava Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
In 1995-1997 he taught Pastoral Theology in St. Sophia Ukrainian Orthodox Seminary, in S. Bound Brook, New Jersey, USA.
On July 28, 1996 by Bishop Vsevolod was promoted to the rank of archimandrite in the Holy Protection Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
On March 1, 1997 appointed a parish-priest in St. Volodymyr Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral in Chicago, Illinols.
On July 2012 by the Holy and Sacred Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate elected to the Episcopacy as a Bishop of Scopelos, auxillary Bishop to the Holy Metropolis of Mexico. His ordination took place in Mexico City on September 09, 2012.
