Pachomios I became twice a Patriarch of Constantinople; previously he was Metropolitan of Zichna. During his first short patriarchy he was fighted by the supporters of Patriarch Joachim, and was soon deposed because of his inabillity to cover the financial needs of the Patriarchate.
After the death of Joachim, he returned to the Patriarchical throne and tried by visiting the dunabic countries (Moldavia and Vlachia) to assist financially the Patriarchate. During his return, he was poisoned by his servant and died in Constantinople in 1514.
