Your Eminence Archbishop Spyridon of America,
Your Grace, beloved brother and concelebrant of our Modesty, Bishop Nicholas of Amissos,
Beloved children in the Lord,
Blessed is our God, who has directed the footsteps of our Modesty and our Most Reverend companions, here to this center which is very dear to us, the center of the faithful children of the Mother Church, the beloved Carpatho-Russian Orthodox. Our joy is even greater, because by the happy coincidence of this visit, we are able to bless, in person, the flock and the accomplishments of the Carpatho-Russian communities in America.
Today, our praises are not only confined to expressing the deep satisfaction of the Mother Church over the successful performance of your duties. We bestow our personal blessing, in the laying of this corner stone, for the new Chancery building of the Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church in the United States. We feel truly proud as we behold the fruits of your works, and indeed your zeal for new labors.
Unto you, beloved brother in Christ, Your Grace Bishop Nicholas, we not only express our heartfelt congratulations for your priestly ministry of forty years, but for your fifteen years exercising the office of Bishop here in America for your Orthodox communities. Moreover, we express the complete satisfaction of the Mother Church and our Modesty personally, for the many ways you demonstrate your love, your devotion, and your faithfulness to the Ecumenical Patriarchate, of which you are a select Hierarch.
This new edifice for the Chancery of the Carpatho-Russian Diocese will not be simply a center for administration, but a visible monument of the heavenly blessing of God upon all of you, the blessed Carpatho-Russian Orthodox faithful. We pray that the future course of this Diocese may be blessed by our All-Good God, unto the glory of His name and for the progress and prosperity of all.
May God bring to a favorable conclusion the work begun here today, and strengthen this house, and all of you by His blessing in the abundance of His good and gracious gifts. Amen.
