His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew spoke by telephone on the afternoon of Monday, June 15, 2026, with His Excellency Mr. Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, condemning the Russian missile attack against the historic Kyiv Pechersk Lavra.

His All-Holiness described the attack as an act of barbarity and desecration, and asked the President to convey his heartfelt solidarity to the Ukrainian people, who continue to endure the suffering caused by the war.
