On the evening of Thursday, November 2, 2017, following the formal invitation of the esteemed Mr. Thierry de Montbrial, Founder and Executive Chairman of the French Institute of International Relations, His All-Holiness departed for Morocco in order to speak at the International World Policy Conference.
Among the various individuals from the political, academic and business world invited to attend the 10th annual conference organized by the IFRI, are His Excellency Aleksandar Vučić, President of the Republic of Serbia, His Excellency Edi Rama, Prime Minister of the Republic Albania, His Excellency Ahmet Davutoğlu, former Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey, as well as other foreign dignitaries from different countries. It is worth noting that Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew was the only representative from the religious world invited to speak at the Conference’s opening.
The members of the Patriarchal Delegation accompanying His All-Holiness during his first visit to Morocco are His Eminence Metropolitan Emmanuel of France, Mr. Pandelis Vingas, and Mr. Marios Tarinas.
The Ecumenical Patriarch will return to the Phanar on the evening of Sunday, November 5th. In his absence, His Eminence Metropolitan Stefanos of Kallioupolis and Madytos will serve as the Patriarchal Vicar.
